The New Ms. Marvel Issue #1 Review


I didn’t have a chance to review this issue, but this sums it up pretty much for me. However, I’m less enthralled with the first issue, but equally interested to see where this goes.

Wonderful Heroes

The first issue of the new Ms. Marvel came out and it has created a buzz amongst Ms. Marvel fans. Instead of a blonde and blue-eyed heroine, the new Ms. Marvel is Kamala Khan, a Muslim teenage girl from New Jersey.

Kamala Khan is the first Muslim superhero to star in her own mainstream comic book series. The team in charge of the series is writer G. Willow Wilson, artist Adrian Alphona and series editor Sana Amanat.

The first issue of Ms. Marvel serves as an introduction to the quirky teenager. This is a story of a girl struggling with her American identity and Muslim identity. She tries so hard to fit in with her classmates but her classmates mock her…
